The Problem
Weather apps tell you a storm is coming. They don't tell you if you're safe.
40 million Americans have anxiety disorders. Millions more experience fear during severe weather. But every weather app on the market is built the same way: scary red alerts, complex radar, and zero emotional support. Nobody answers the question anxious people are actually asking.
🚨
SEVERE WARNING
Alarm-driven alerts that spike your cortisol instead of helping you understand the situation.
📡
Raw Radar Data
Complex maps designed for meteorologists, not for someone panicking at 2am.
😰
No Reassurance
No app tells you "your home can handle this" or "this passes in 35 minutes."
🧘
No Storm Tools
Wellness apps have breathing exercises but zero connection to live weather data.
The Solution
Skye translates weather data into emotional clarity.
Real-time weather intelligence meets psychology-informed communication. Not a weather app. Not a meditation app. Something entirely new.
🛡
Am I Safe? Button
One tap. Real-time location data. A clear, honest answer based on current conditions — not a generic alert.
💬
Live Storm Companion
Stays with you through the entire storm. Calm updates, progress countdown, and a voice that says "you're doing well" when you need it most.
Calm Forecast Mode
Plain-language risk levels. "Loud thunder expected. Your home is fine. This passes in 35 minutes." Not SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING in red.
🌬
Anxiety Toolkit
Breathing timer, 5-4-3-2-1 grounding, storm facts, and a post-storm journal. Evidence-based tools that actually work during panic.
⚙️
Fear Profile
Tell Skye what scares you — tornadoes, lightning, thunder, being alone. Every alert adapts to YOUR triggers, not generic warnings.

The Story
Built by someone who gets it.
"Hi, I'm Katelin. I've lived with storm anxiety my whole life. Every weather app I've ever used made it worse — scary alerts, bright red radar, and zero answers to the only question that actually matters: 'Am I safe right now?'
So I built Skye myself. In just a few days on my iPhone, I created the live prototypes you can try right now. It turns real weather data into plain-language calm, with an 'Am I Safe?' button, storm companion messages, and simple tools that actually help in the moment.
I'm still a solo founder and pre-MVP. I'm actively looking for a technical co-founder to help turn this prototype into a real mobile app. If you're a developer, therapist, or someone who just gets it, I'd love to hear from you."
